A beautiful Hand painted "Imari Ware" Wall Hanging Plate.

  • Central Motif: The heart of the plate showcases a pair of majestic peacocks (or possibly pheasants) surrounded by lush, colorful peonies and other flowering plants. This symbolizes beauty, dignity, and good fortune.

  • Segmented Border: The plate's rim is divided into six distinct, alternating panels, creating a dynamic visual rhythm:

    • Red and Gold Panels: Two panels feature bold, stylized foliage and floral medallions in striking red and gold over a black geometric or lattice pattern.

    • White and Polychrome Panels: Two panels depict lively scenes including exotic birds (like phoenixes) perched among flowering branches and elements resembling traditional Japanese palanquins or carts. These are set against a white ground with accents of blue, green, and red.

  • Color Palette: The colors are characteristically rich and dense, including iron red, vibrant green, deep cobalt blue, yellow, and extensive use of gold gilt for luxurious detailing and outlining.
